Happy St. Patrick's Day!

CONGRATS to all of our jazz students on a fun, rewarding, and educational trip to the University of Montana Buddy DeFranco Jazz Festival. Many of our students were recognized as outstanding soloists including Valin Gabriel and Jace Samaha who were invited to play in the evening concert as featured soloists (only 4 selected all day). Our brass players were invited to play in the evening concert by winning "Best Trumpet Section" and "Best Trombone Section"awards. Students recognized throughout the day included James Batchelder, Teghan Bright, Ashley Conner, William Farley, Quinn Fuller, Valin Gabriel, Zachary Kadyk, Asher Kendoll, Khan Nguyen, Jack Poole, Jace Samaha, Katherine Selby, Asher Wynne, Lilly Yarbro. (that's a lot! Let me know if I missed you) Best Trumpets were William Bright, Valin Gabriel, Hadeon Pawluk, and Asher Wynne. Best Trombones were Ash Blair, Sam Garrett, Asher Kendoll, and Bruce Redden. BRAVO!

We have a lot going on over the next 10 days - PLEASE look through this week's notes, check your calendars, and look forward to some great performances and experiences ahead!

We'll be at a well-deserved spring break very soon!

Please consider helping at our jazz festival :D. Thank you in advance to those of you that already give of your time to make this a special experience for your students! As I've mentioned to the students, this fundraiser helps all of our students, not just jazz students.

Also, as we begin to travel, please make sure you have your Emergency/Travel Permission form turned in! Nicole has extra paper copies OR you can print from meadbands.org/forms
