I'm back! (again :D). So sorry for another week of having a substitute teacher but thank you so much for your work, patience, maturity and leadership through the challenge. This was definitely a bug that kicked my butt and one that I hope is not making its way to too many people!
Most of you have seen my posts about some important So Cal updates and info. Please take a look at that; I'll be in touch with some/all of you in the next couple of weeks to ensure we are all on the same page with our traveler list before we officially purchase airline tickets.
Don't forget to check the calendar for the month of March - things get busy!
THIS WEEK - We're into March this week!
This week we have a rehearsal for all members of Wind Ensemble (2nd period and 3rd period students) and our trip to CWU on Friday (also for 2nd Period Wind Ensemble and 3rd Period Percussion only). Also this week we get to March 1st and the need for your So Cal fees!
Tuesday, February 27 -
5:30pm to 7:30pm - Wind Ensemble and 3rd Per Percussion Rehearsal
Friday, March 1 - So Cal fees in please! If you are needing more time on this final payment please reach out to me - (all payments up to this one need to be in for us to pay on our contracts)
Friday, March 1 to Saturday, March 2 - CWU WindFest (Wind Ensemble)
Friday - 3:30pm Report, load bus, etc. Depart by 4:15pm. Bring a sack dinner and snacks. If we get a chance to stop for food, it will be quick! The plan is for you to eat just before we depart, or bring something for the bus ride. We'll have a chance to do a grocery store run after rehearsal.
Saturday - perform at 10am, observe CWU and high school bands, return to MHS approx. 8pm

Thursday, March 14 to Friday, March 15 - U of Montana Buddy De Franco Jazz Fest
Thursday departure after 1st lunch, return Friday approx. 11pm

REPEAT and REMINDER
One BIG thing we'll need help with is our Mead Jazz Festival. Although it's not quite as large of fundraiser as the marching band show, it is a great one with a lot of bands from around Eastern WA in attendance. We're up to 30 bands in attendance and love to show them how great our program is at hosting these events!
