Student report time - 6:30pm, Theatre doors open at 6:30pm

    • Jazz 1 - warm up while Jazz 2 is performing​

    • Jazz 2 - warm up in the band room, observe Jazz 1 immediately following your performance!

  • Approved concert performance attire required

Winter Holiday Concert

DECEMBER 13, 7PM | MHS THEATRE

Student report time - 6:30pm, Theatre doors open at 6:30pm

5pm dinner set up will begin

5:30pm food is served

5:30pm Jazz 2 performance

6pm Jazz 1 performance

6:30pm All students report to band room for equipment, warm up, etc.  Audience members may move to theatre.

6:50pm Performers move onto stage

    • Students may, and are encouraged to wear seasonal and holiday accents such as Santa hats, reindeer antlers, red or green ties, etc.​

  • Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will be combined for this event​

  • This event serves as a qualifier for the WIAA/WMEA State Solo & Ensemble Festival held at CWU in Ellensburg, in the month of April.

  • Transportation to this event is "on your own" to Shadle Park HS

  • Percussion and larger equipment are likely to be loaded on the Blue Goose during class on Friday, Feb 3.

  • Required for Wind Ensemble members

    • Minimum involvement is in an ensemble​

    • Solos are not required

  • Required for 3rd Period Percussion (Blaze)​

  • Optional for Symphonic Band​

  • 4th Period Percussion is working on "In the Sky". Discussion will

continue about performing this at the festival - stay tuned.​

Roster for Rooms | Part Assignments

  • Performances* updates - due to the large change in attending students, we are reducing to 2 performing groups - one combined concert band of all attending students (similar to our Disney trips) and our advanced percussion ensemble (Blaze personnel). See below for a list of our instrumentation and part assignments for the concert band setting.

  • Potential activities include Museum of Pop Culture, Museum of Flight, Mariners Baseball Game, Benaroya Hall Tour, Pike Place Market

  • Charter bus transportation to, from, and around Seattle

  • 3 nights hotel accommodations

  • Trip expense is $475.

    • January 13th $235​

    • February 15th $240

  • Meal money will be needed and is in addition to the trip expense

  • Registration through WorldStrides must be completed ASAP, no later than January 20th.

  • Rooming list is due during MHS Finals Week  - see Mr. Lewis in person, in groups of 2 or 4 to sign up.
