Band Notes 6/5 to 6/11

Good afternoon on an incredible day here in the Inland Northwest! It's also shaping up to be an incredible day tomorrow for our End of Year Band Awards BBQ and Concert! Please join us for food beginning at 5pm in the Panther Courtyard (the one you walk through to enter the theatre) and join us for the music and awards beginning at 6:30pm in the mall. Thank you to our booster club for organizing this fun event!

Our list of things to do for this year is getting smaller and smaller as this week we say goodbye to our seniors with their last day on Wednesday, and graduation on Friday!

For those of you returning to our program in 2023-2024, please plan to attend on June 15th to begin helping us build our band community for the next year. Summer and fall Marching Band registration info and more will be available, fundraiser info, trips, fees, schedules and more for the entire year will be available!

IN CLASS THE NEXT (LAST) COUPLE WEEKS

In classes this week we will be rehearsing Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones on Monday. Don't forget the combined rehearsals during 2nd period for Pirates and 5th period for GOT.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we'll collect music, instruments, and other items that are still out there in the hands of our senior students; please dig through your room for some of those items. For our non-seniors, we'll begin to read through our graduation music on Wednesday in class, continuing to rehearse those charts on Thursday.

And on Friday during 2nd period we'll have a combined rehearsal with all graduation participants from band and orchestra. Percussion classes Tues - Friday of this week will largely be focused returning equipment to it's proper places and discovering what we might be missing and need to find! We'll also spend time in percussion class checking out some battery exercises.

Next week in class (FINALS WEEK), will be those final opportunities to complete any missing assignments, especially the final playing assignments and reflection. I'll also ask a few students that love to organize help get things back in order for the end of the year and reset for what will be another awesome run in 2023-2024. (music, technique books, folders, stands, chairs, mic cables, and much more).
