Jazz IIRob Lewis, Director
This band generally attends 3-5 festivals throughout the year. These festivals may include the Eastern Washington University Jazz Dialogue, Clark College Jazz Festival, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival and the Columbia Basin College Jazz Festival. Additionally, the band participates in 3-4 concerts each year at MHS. These concerts are usually held in November, February, and May with a small combo performance setting being part of our band's final concert and awards banquet held in June. |




Jazz II is the intermediate jazz band class offered at Mead High School. This class tends to be comprised of students that are in grades 10-12 who are still developing and refining their technical skills, reading skills, and tone production. This class provides an emphasis on jazz style, articulation, ensemble playing, and development of improvisation skills is present. Literature in this ensemble tends to be grades 3 to 4½ in difficulty.
